Amendment to LR 83.2(c)

Pursuant to LR 1.2(b), the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire gives notice that it has amended LR 83.2(c) regarding appearances in court by law students and graduates. Given the nature of the amendment to clarify the circumstances under which law students and graduates may practice in this court, the amendment is necessary in advance of a public comment period. All comments, including suggestions or other correspondence, related to this amendment may be made before July 7, 2016, and directed to Pamela E. Phelan, Chief Deputy Clerk at or U.S. District Court, Warren B. Rudman U.S. Courthouse, 55 Pleasant Street, Room 110, Concord, NH  03301-3941.

            (c)        A second or third year student at, or a graduate of, an accredited United States law school, who is certified under N.H. Supreme Court Rule 36 and whose supervising attorney under said rule is a member of the bar of this court, may appear before the court on behalf of any indigent person(s), the State of New Hampshire, a State agency, or a State subdivision, or the United States government under the general supervision of such supervising attorney. The presence of the supervising attorney in court shall be required in all cases, and the supervising attorney shall be required to review, sign and file pleadings in all cases.
