The United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire has entered a new Standing Order (20-21) extending the continuance of jury trials, mediations, and non-court related events until August 1, 2020. This new order does not automatically continue grand jury proceedings. Moving forward, the court will continue to conduct civil and criminal hearings by videoconference and telephonic hearings (20-7; 20-12) or by in-court hearings (20-6) in the discretion of the presiding judge. The United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire has entered a new Standing Order allowing attorneys and pro se parties who must submit paper filings under our Local Rules and ECF Rules to submit those documents by email. The United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire has been made aware of an email jury scam in which the email claims its receipient has been "summoned to appear for Jury Duty for a Federal Case." The email also claims that if you do not appear, you will automatically be fined, and includes a hyperlink to more information about the case and the case number. This is not a legitimate jury summons.
