The Query Results page displays a list of all documents which match your search.  The page has the following components:

• A line containing your query along with the number of hits found and the number of documents containing those hits.

  Example: Your query: "kramer or litigation" found 59 hits in 2 documents

• By default 10 documents are shown per page. Additional documents can be accessed by clicking Next 10 Hits at the bottom of the document list.

Document List

The bulk of the page being made up of the Document List. The Document List is a table listing all the documents found as the result of your query: 

• The first column displays the document title.  Click the link to view the document in HTML format. The Document Browse page highlights the hits for each words in your search.
• Column two contains the file name of the document/opinion.   A P indicates an opinion designated for "publication".
• The third column displays the total number of times the words you searched for appear in the document.
• The last column provides a link to the document in PDF format.  If  Adobe Acrobat 4.0 reader (available free from www.adobe.com) is installed, your browser will   launch Acrobat and automatically load the PDF version of the document/opinion. The PDF version can be saved to your local drive or printed.

To query within current or previous results:

• Click on the hypertext link Re-Query
• Enter new words to be searched for with the results list for the current query.
• The query that you entered above will evaluate only the documents that were retrieved in the original query.  A list of documents which match both the original query and the new search will be displayed.
