We have become aware of another jury scam that has been recently occurring in NH. The scammer is phoning potential victims, telling them that a warrant has been issued for their arrest for failing to report for jury duty or for other reasons. The scammer is directing potential victims to meet at a sheriff's office or other location to make payment to avoid arrest or prosecution. This is not how this court communicates with jurors. If you receive such a call, you should report it to the U.S.

The court will host the 9th Federal Practice Institute on Friday, October 7, 2016. General registration will open on August 23. Early registration is being offered now for members of the NH Bar-Federal Practice Section; NH Chapter of the Federal Bar Association; the court's Federal Court Advisory Committee (FCAC); and new lawyers (with five years or less experience), and early registration for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Federal Defender Office, CJA Panel Attorneys, and the NH Bankruptcy Bar will open on August 8.

We have become aware of a jury scam that has been recently occurring in NH. The scammer is phoning potential victims, telling them that a warrant has been issued for their arrest for failing to report for jury duty and directing them to report to an address in Manchester to pay a fine. This is not how this court communicates with jurors. If you receive such a call, you should report it to the U.S. Marshal's Office for the District of New Hampshire at (603) 225-1632.

Beginning June 20, 2016, all sentencing letters (i.e. character letters or victim impact statements) that are not submitted to the court as an attachment to a pleading (such as letters submitted at a sentencing hearing or via the U.S. Probation Office) will be docketed in the court's electronic case docket when received by the court and available to the public via the public terminals located in the clerk's office.

The court updated its July 2012 CJA Cost Containment Order regarding vouchers in excess compensation cases to clarify the court's process for these vouchers, particularly given the recent implementation of eVoucher. The new Administrative Order, Adm 1, 15-4, can be found on the orders page.

Beginning August 17, 2015, CJA Panel Attorneys will use eVoucher to submit all requests under the Criminal Justice Act. eVoucher is a nationally developed computer application program that automates and significantly streamlines the process by which CJA Panel Attorneys maintain time and expense records, and prepare and submit to the court requests to engage services other than counsel, requests for transcripts, and vouchers for payment of attorney fees and expenses, expert expenses and transcripts.
