What are the differences between the Web page (HTML) and PDF versions of an opinion?
The HTML version of an opinion gives a hypertext display of any "hits" that you entered in your query, is single spaced, and shows footnotes at the end of the document.
The PDF version of an opinion gives a true rendition of the document, is double-spaced, and retains the formatting and pagination of the original WordPerfect opinion.
I need help printing/saving the Web Page (HTML) version of an opinion.
To save a web page (HTML):
- Select File, Save As.
- Change the File Type in the dialog to "txt".
- Enter a file name for the document to be saved. The file extension must be txt.
If the HTML version does not print correctly, try the following:
- Select Print, Properties. Select the Graphics tab, and set the resolution to 300 DPI.
- If 300 DPI does not work, select Print, Properties. Locate and select the option "Download Soft Fonts" or "Download Truetype Fonts as Bitmap".
This can usually be found in either the Fonts tab or in the Advanced Settings for your printer (The exact wording and location may vary depending on your printer).
I need help printing/saving the PDF version of an opinion.
To print a PDF file, select the "print" icon on the Adobe Acrobat toolbar. Make sure that the check box "Fit to Page" in the printer dialog is unchecked.
If the PDF document still does not print correctly, try the following:
- Select Print, Properties. Select the Graphics tab, and set the resolution to 300 DPI.
- If setting 300 DPI does not work, select Print, Properties. Locate and select the option "Download Soft Fonts", or "Download Truetype Fonts as Bitmap".
This can usually be found in either the Fonts tab or in the Advanced Settings for your printer. (The exact wording and location may vary depending on the printer)
To save the PDF file, select the "floppy disk" icon on the Adobe Acrobat toolbar. Point your browser to the directory on your local drive (usually Drive C:) where the opinion is to be saved. The file may be renamed but the extension must be PDF.
Note: If a portion of the PDF document heading appears "fuzzy," click the "Next Page" icon or the "Actual Size" icon. This should clear the problem.
Why do Opinion No. and Docket No. appear against the left margin (and break up the party information)?
This is a known problem (1/20/2000) and has been reported to Odyssey Development, the developers of Isys Web. The problem in formatting occurs when WordPerfect 9 opinions are converted to HTML web pages. Odyssey has requested a new version of Key-View from a third-party developer to fix the problem.
What does Re-Query do?
Re-query is simply a "query within the current query results."
For example: Your current search is 'mail fraud' and it found 200 documents. You select Re-query and search for 'guns'. The new result will list only documents which contain 'mail fraud' and also contain 'guns'.
What are the System/Browser Requirements?
Access to the District of New Hampshire's Opinions (Isys Web version 5.0.4) has been tested using both Netscape 4.6 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x running under both Windows 95 and Windows 98 with the Adobe Acrobat 4.05 Reader (available free of charge from http://www.adobe.com).
