2017 Mediation CLE

On Thursday, November 2, 2017, the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire Judicial Branch – Office of Mediation and Arbitration, and the University of New Hampshire, School of Law will be hosting an all-day free Mediation Seminar featuring John Lande and Susan M. Yates. The seminar will be held at the federal court, with a morning session focusing on techniques mediators can employ to overcome impasses, and an afternoon session devoted to techniques advocates can use to work effectively with clients, opposing parties and the mediator before and during mediation. The training will involve opportunities for attendees to practice new skills and discuss strategies using real and hypothetical cases. Everyone is welcome to attend both sessions.

The morning session will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m., and the afternoon session will begin at 1:15 p.m. and conclude at 4:30. Light refreshments will be provided during the morning and afternoon breaks.

More information about John Lande and Susan Yates and estimated CLE credits available for the seminar is provided here, and you can view the agenda here.

Survey  John Lande and Susan Yates are conducting a survey in connection with the training and we encourage you to participate.  The survey asks about practitioners’ experience and views about mediation.  Results from the survey will be presented during and after the training.  In addition, the results will be included in research publications and presentations.  Please respond by October 23 so that information they collect via the survey can be included in the training.  For more information and to participate in the survey, click here.
